Fire destroys Port Morant house

PORT MORANT St Thomas - A four-bedroom house was destroyed by fire in Bowden Hill district, Port Morant in St. Thomas Friday afternoon.

Reports from the Port Morant Police are that about 2:30 pm residents nearby were burning debris created from the passage of Hurricane Sandy when the fire spread to the house.

The Morant Bay Fire Department was summoned and the blaze extinguished.

Loss is estimated at J$3.5 million. The house was not insured.
