Fire scare at Courts Cross Roads

KINGSTON Jamaica — Activities at the Cross Road's branch of furniture and electrical and home ware store Courts Jamaica were disrupted this morning following reports of a fire scare.

"I was in the store this morning and me hear them raise an alarm that some electrical shortage was causing a problem at the store," said one customer rep who works at the institution but who asked not to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media.

Following the incident activities at the store has been suspended.

Customers are being turned away and advised to carry out transaction at other branches of the company.

A fire truck is also on stand by while a Jamaica Public Service JPS team carry out inspection on the building.

The incident has drawn the attention of large crowd of curious onlookers.
