KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have reported that they confiscated three firearms in separate incidents in Westmoreland and St Catherine, one of which was reportedly found at sea by a fisherman who handed it over to lawmen.

A Westmoreland fisherman reported Saturday that he found the firearm in a bucket that he saw floating at sea.

He reported that upon looking into the bucket a Smith & Wesson pistol with nine rounds of ammunition was seen inside.

Later that day, a Browning pistol was found in bushes during an operation in Westmoreland; however no arrest was made in connection to the find.

In the third incident, the police this morning seized a 9mm Browning pistol with 10 rounds of ammunition on Port Henderson Road, St Catherine after a man was seen acting in a suspicious manner.

The man, 23-year-old Odaine Bailey of Gregory Park, in the parish, was searched and the weapon found in his possession.
