KINGSTON, Jamaica — Four senior superintendents have been appointed to the post of assistant commissioner of police (ACP) following the advice of the Police Service Commission and ratification by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen.

They are Selvin Hay, Carlton Wilson, Devon Watkis and Paul Ferguson.

Hay will now lead the Anti-Corruption Branch, a post he has been acting in since the departure of Justin Felice earlier this year.

Wilson has been transferred from the position of divisional commander for the St Ann Police Division to the Inspectorate of the Constabulary.

His previous position will now be commanded by Superintendent Dudley Scott. 

Watkis takes over officially as the commander for Police Area 1 (Westmoreland, Hanover, St James and Trelawny). He was acting ACP for Area 1 after then Commander ACP Carl Williams left to become head of the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Task Force (MOCA) in May of this year.

Paul Ferguson now forms part of the team at the Inspectorate of the Constabulary.

Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington congratulated the four ACPs on their appointments.

“These officers have over many years served with distinction. Through their professionalism and commitment they have now reached the commissioning ranks and I applaud their appointments. I am confident that they will continue their good work and will always be a credit to the JCF,” Ellington said.
