KINGSTON, Jamaica - The ministry of Industry Investment and Commerce has shortlisted four sites for processing scrap metal when the trade resumes.
Owners of the selected sites will be informed today the ministry says however, no word was given on when the controversial trade will restart.
Only three of the shortlisted sites will be used due to issues regarding their control and monitoring.
None of the sites are ready for operation, the ministry says, but once selection is finalized, they will be leased by the Government and upgraded.
