Full access to Sangster Airport reopened after crash
Thursday, January 17, 2013 | 4:04 PM
ST JAMES, Jamaica - Sangster International Airport Management has re-opened the commercial road from Queen’s Highway to all traffic to facilitate arrivals from the east side of the airport.
At about 9:00am a fuel truck passing the airport overturned, causing a fuel spill, which led to the closure of the main road. The Sangster International Airport Team, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), the Airport Emergency Response Team along with airport staff and the Jamaica Fire Brigade for St James, responded quickly to contain the fuel spill and clean the area.
In the aftermath of the spill, the Red Cap Porters along with other airport personnel assisted passengers who walked the tiring distance from Queen’s Drive to the airport.
According to the airport management team airlines were advised immediately and there were no flight delays related to the incident.
