Ganja worth J$5m seized in St Elizabeth, 2 men arrested

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica -- Compressed ganja valued at approximately J$5 million was seized on Caramel Road in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth Saturday night, the police have reported.

According to the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division about 8:30 pm a team of officers was conducting an operation in the area when the driver of a Toyota Townace van was signalled to stop. The driver complied, and during a subsequent search of the vehicle the ganja weighing approximately 1000 pounds was seized

The driver and another man who was in the motor vehicle were arrested. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
