Garbage truck driver charged with manslaughter

KINGSTON, Jamaica— The driver of the garbage truck that killed seven-year-old Clan Carthy School student Benjamin Briar has been charged with manslaughter.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force in a tweet a short while ago, the driver is 52-year-old Alten Brooks ofNine Miles, Bull Bay in St Andrew.

The police said that Brooks will appear in the Home Circuit Court this Friday.

Briar was killed last month after a garbage truck overturned at his school crushing the seven-year-old beneath.
