Gold Cup: Jamaica draw 1-1 with El Salvador

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Darren Mattocks slotted home a second-half penalty to earn Jamaica and 1-1 result against El Salvador in their final Group C CONCACAF Gold Cup Tournament game here inside Alamodome today.

Striker Nelson Bonilla had given his team a lead in the15thminute.

The result gave Jamaica one of two automatic berths to the quarterfinals, while guaranteeing the Central Americans one of two best third-placed teams.

Jamaica will now travel to Arizonatomorrowfor their quarterfinal encounteron Thursday, while El Salvador will travel to Pennsylvania for a meeting with hosts, the United States of America.
