Guard foils robbery at East Kingston bank, firearm seized

KINGSTON, Jamaica - A security guard foiled a robbery at the National Commercial Bank (NCB) on Windward Road, Kingston 2 yesterday.

Reports from the Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) are that about 2:34pm the security guard approached a man he observed robbing a customer in the drive-through section of the bank.

The gunman immediately opened fire at the guard triggering a gunfight.  After the shooting subsided, it was discovered that the alleged robber was shot. The police were summoned and on their arrival, they arrested the injured man and confiscated a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol loaded with seven 9mm rounds. The security guard escaped without injuries.
