Gun seized in St Mary

POLICE in St Mary seized a Tanfoglio 9mm pistol and a magazine containing 13 rounds on the Mango Valley main road in the parish yesterday.

Reports are that about 1:00 am, a police team was conducting an operation in the area when the driver of a motor truck was signaled to stop. During a subsequent search, the firearm – serial number erased – and the ammunition were found.

A man has since been taken into custody in relation to the find; however, his name is being withheld pending further investigations.
