Gunmen flee leaving firearm after shootout with police

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — A Taurus .357 Magnum revolver containing four .357 cartridges was seized by the St Andrew North police during an operation in Iron River district, Stony Hill, St Andrew, the cops have reported.

According to the police'sCorporate Communications Unit,a team of officers on operations in the area about 6:30 pm approached a premises and men opened gunfire at the team resulting in a shootout.

The police said the men escaped leaving the weapon behind. No member of the police team was injured during the incident, the CCU said.
