Hanover man arrested on warrant of extradition for lottery scamming

HANOVER, Jamaica — Twenty-two-year-old Oraine Gray, an electrician of Haughton Grove district, in Ramble, Hanover was arrested at his home today during an operation carried out by members of the Lottery Scam Task Force (LSTF), Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team (JFAT) and United States Law Enforcement Officers from the US Embassy.

The operation was reportedly conducted between the hours of 5:30 am and 8:00 am.

Gray is wanted on a Warrant of Extradition in the United States of America for lottery scamming related offences such as: conspiracy to commit mail fraud; conspiracy to defraud; attempt mail fraud; obtaining money by false pretence and money laundering

According to police reports, lottery scamming paraphernalia including electronic devices and lead sheets were seized during the operation.

Gray is expected to be brought to court some time next week for an extradition hearing, the police said.
