KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) general secretary, Horace Reid, has resigned his post, effective October 31.

The veteran football administrator, who served as general secretary of the JFF in two spells totalling 11 years, will be moving to 'greener pastures' where he will take up a new appointment as competitions director of the Confederation of North, Cantral American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF).

In his new role, Reid will oversee a department that will primarily be responsible for the execution of all CONCACAF's competition properties, including the CONCACAF Champions League and the flagship Gold Cup Tournament.

Reid, who will be based at CONCACAF's New York headquarters, will take up his new post on November 1.

"It was a most difficult decision to leave the JFF and Jamaica, but thanks to the tremendous understanding and support received from the president and other members of the board, I was able to take advantage of the opportunity," Reid said.

He has served as executive director of the Marketing Division at the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), member of CFU Legal Task Force, FIFA Security & Stadium Inspector (World Cup 2010) and chairman of CONCACAF’s Administration Committee for 10 years, which culminated in 2011.

Reid currently serves on FIFA's Beach Soccer Committee.
