JPS transformer stolen, water supply in sections of Portmore affected

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising that operations at the Goshen Pen Relift, Government Park #2, Half Way Tree and Cookson pumping stations are disrupted due to a stolen Jamaica Public Service transformer that has resulted in break in power supply to these facilities.

Area affected are: Greater Portmore, Naggo Head, Old Braeton, Congreve Park, Silverstone, Portmore Pines, Monza, Daytona, Ascott and West Cumberland.

The company said it is working with JPS to have the problems corrected in the shortest possible time.
