ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) says that there will be several route diversions downtown Kingston resulting from the Digicel 5k scheduled for tomorrow, October 7, commencing at 7:00 pm.

Corporate Communications Manager Cecil Thoms in a release Friday afternoon said that over 40 routes will be affected as a result of road closures.

“The JUTC and the police have put ample provisions in place to deal with the anticipated re-routing that will occur,” the release said.

“The police will have their members at strategic points to guide and direct traffic along the detour routes; as well as to provide security for the event. JUTC staff to include dispatchers and customer service guides will be on hand to offer guidance and customer service support to our commuters,”

“Personnel will be dressed in black and yellow uniforms to be easily identified. We expect that normal service will resume at 9:00 pm,” the release added.
