HAMILTON, Bermuda (CMC) — Organisers have confirmed Jamaican runner Stephen Allen as the winner of one of the coveted Triangle Challenge titles after he triumphed in a mile race and posted high finishes in the 10-kilometre race and half-marathon during the Bermuda Marathon Weekend.

Allen, a 32-year-old Bermuda policeman and part-time football referee, posted a combined time of one hour, 52 minutes and 20 seconds for the three races, finishing almost seven seconds ahead of Bermudian Spencer Butterfield.

Allen began his weekend by winning Friday night's adult local male mile race along Front Street and then finished sixth in Saturday's 10-kilometre race before coming fifth in Sunday's half-marathon.

Local runner Rose-Anne Hoey won the women's title with a combined time of 2:10.59.

Dave Nevitt of Canada (3:53.38) won the men's Triangle Challenge for runners who completed a mile race, 10K and full marathon, while Miranda Bachman of the United States (4:33.49) took the women's title.
