Jamaican murdered in Cayman Islands

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands (CMC) — The police are investigating an incident in which a Jamaican national was murdered in George Town late Saturday.

While not revealing all the details, the police report that they were called to the scene shortly after 9:00 pm (Cayman time) where they found the man suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead some time later.

The police have not released the identiy of the man, who was reportedly in his twenties.

However, comments on social media suggest that the Jamaican man lived in West Bay, to the north of the capital.

This is the first murder in the British Overseas territory for 2018.
