Journalist Janice Budd has died

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Broadcast and print journalist Janice Budd has died after a long battle with cancer.

Budd passed away at home where she had been receiving treatment after months in hospital.

She served the Jamaican media for over 20 years and worked at various organisations such as the Jamaica Information Service, CVM TV, Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation, Television Jamaica and the Jamaica Observer as Sunday editor.

She left the Observer for National Commercial Bank after which she went to the Shipping Association of Jamaica where she was employed up to the time of her passing.
