KSAC to hold Town Hall meeting

Tuesday, January 15, 2013 | 3:53 PM

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) will hold its first Town Hall meeting for 2013 on January 23.

The meeting, scheduled for the Leslie Rideout Hall (Kingston Bookshop) at 80 King Street, downtown Kingston, will seek to discuss issues surrounding garbage collection and other controversial topics in the market district

Vendors will get the opportunity to directly engage the Mayor of Kingston, National Solid Waste Management Agency (NSWMA) and other agencies.

The KSAC will also introduce to the public Completely Kingston App. The App allows real time reporting of issues such as illegal buildings, uncollected garbage, street light malfunction, illegal signs and billboards and other related issues.

This, the KSAC says, will allow them to respond to reported issues in a timely manner.

The KSAC says, however, where the report falls outside its remit the information will be passed on to the relevant authority.
