Kingston man murdered, 10-y-o boy injured

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man was shot dead and a 10-year-old boy injured when gunmen struck on Stephen Street in Allman Town, Kingston yesterday.

Dead is 32-year-old Leon Weir, who is from the area.

Reports from police in Allman Town are that Weir was standing along the main road about 10:00 pm, while the boy was playing nearby when a motorcyclist and pillion passenger approached and opened gunfire hitting them.

Both were taken to hospital where Weir was pronounced dead and the child admitted for treatment.
