KINGSTON, Jamaica — OBSERVER ONLINE has been informed that lecturers at the University of Technology (UTech), Jamaica in Papine, St Andrew are currently staging a sit-in protest.

A student at the tertiary institution said one lecturer sent a message via WhatsApp informing that: “there will be no class today…please read lecture 3 on selection criteria…in preparation for next week”.

Calls to UTech's corporate communications department have gone unanswered.

According to sources however, the lecturers met yesterday and decided to withdraw their services until Thursday.
