Liu Xiang crashes out of 110m hurdles

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Former world record holder and Olympic champion Liu Xiang crashed into the first barrier of the men’s 100m hurdles this morning to cut his Games short.
Xiang hopped off the track but returned and hopped down to the finish line to congratulate his competitors.
The heat was won by Great Britain’s Andrew Turner in 13.42. Second was Selim Nurundeen of Nigeria in 13.51, a personal best.
Gregory Sedoc of The Netherlands was third in 13.52.
