KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Local Government and Community Development in partnership with the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) will break ground at 163-167 King Street in downtown Kingston tomorrow for an adult transitional facility.

According to a release from the KSAMC, the facility will be the first of its kind in Jamaica. It will offer temporary care to members of the homeless population. Through treatment and intervention, persons will be reintegrated into society.

The release said the facility has been the brainchild of former Kingston mayor and Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Desmond McKenzie.
