M16, ammo seized in Lakes Pen

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A joint police/military operation has led to the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in St Catherine yesterday.

The Spanish Town police are reporting that between 11:00 am and 1:20 pm, several premises in Lakes Pen were searched.

One M16 assault rifle and fifty-one 5.56 rounds of ammunition were seized.

Eight men have been taken into custody for questioning.
