Man fatally shot at '100-man' police station in Portmore

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — There was mayhem at the Portmore Police Station in Portmore, St Catherine yesterday after an unidentified man was fatally shot by police during an incident on the compound.

The incident occurred about 2:10 pm at the station more popularly known as the 100-man police station.

A knife was reportedly seized during the incident according to police reports.

The man is of dark complexion, slim build and is about 173 centimetres (5 feet 8 inches) tall.

The matter has since been reported to the Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) and the Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM).
