Man hides under cellar in Kingston as lawmen seize gun

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A joint police/military operation along Bryden Street, Kingston 16 has resulted in the arrest of one man and the seizure of two firearms and 41 rounds of ammunition.

The first firearm seized was a Taurus 9mm pistol, which the team reportedly found at one of the several premises they searched in the area yesterday. The lawmen said it had a magazine containing 21 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

As the operation progressed, the team seized a black Springfield XDM pistol with a magazine containing 20 rounds at another premises, where a man was found hiding under a cellar.

He was taken into custody, however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations, lawmen said.
