Man killed, three injured in separate Westmoreland shootings

KINGSTON, Jamaica — One man was killed and three others wounded in separate shooting incidents in Red Ground, Westmoreland on Sunday.

In the first incident, three armed men on foot opened gunfire on a group of men in the vicinity of Archer Cemetery in the area about 10:00 am, according to police reports.

Three of the men were later found with gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital where they are currently being treated.

Later in the day, about 2:20 pm, police officers were summoned to another section of the community where residents had heard explosions.

The lawmen found that 36-year-old Christopher Wright, otherwise called 'Not Nice', of the said community, had been shot several times inside his home.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.
