KINGSTON, Jamaica — Comedienne and media personality Elva Ruddock died at the Kingston Public Hospital this morning following what is being described as a brief illness.

Ruddock, who is best known for her larger than life personality, was a former columnist with the Jamaica Observer and its defunct evening publication Chat!.

Her other media exploits included host of Fame FM's Full House Fridays and co-host of the popular infomercial for the Bashco stores with Omar Azan.
