NWA issues relocation notice in St Mary

ST MARY, Jamaica — The demolition of houses in Broadgate, St Mary, is expected to begin today, following a May 9 notice issued to residents by the National Works Agency (NWA).

The NWA notice, a copy of which has been obtained by OBSERVER ONLINE, urged residents to vacate their homes by 12 O' clock, this morning.

“This property is now in the possession of the Commissioner of Lands for the purpose of facilitating the Government of Jamaica Road Rehabilitation Project Phase II, Toms River to Agualta Vale, Package I, St Mary. The building situated on this property will be demolished on Monday, May 20, 2019,” the notice issued to one resident said.

The road project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of the 2019/2020 financial year.
