KINGSTON, Jamaica- JAILED dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel and his co-accused Vanessa ‘Gaza Slim’ Saddler and Andre ‘Pim-Pim’ Henry yesterday had their trial on a charge of perverting the course of justice postponed to November 12 in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.

The trial was set to begin yesterday but was further delayed due to the absence of the presiding judge and the non-disclosure of statements to the defence.

Consequently, a new date was scheduled and Kartel was remanded into custody while the other accused had their bails extended.

The three accused were charged last December while Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adijah Palmer, was in custody after being charged with the murder of Clive Williams.

According to police reports, on October 29, Gaza Slim filed a report at the Constant Spring Police Station claiming that Williams robbed her.

However, investigators said that they later found out that the report was false and that the three had fabricated the story to mislead the police into believing that Williams was not dead.

Williams was reportedly taken to a house in Havendale, St Andrew last August and was beaten and stabbed to death over claims by his aggressors that he had lost an illegal gun.

Also charged with Williams’ death are fashion stylist Calvin 'Moonie' Haye, deejay Shawn Storm, and Cairo Jones.
