Principal of the August Town Primary School, Marlton Wilson, described this morning's shooting incident in the community as "brazen, bold and careless."

2. Shootout in August Town 'coordinated', says councillor Phillips; police being threatened

Following this morning's gun attack in the Jungle 12 area of August Town, councillor for the Papine Division, Venesha Phillips said that the attack was a coordinated one.

3. 'Speckles' Clarendon most wanted killed

Clarendon's most wanted fugitive, Nico Walters otherwise called 'Speckles or Freckles' was killed during a confrontation with lawmen in the Effortville community of Farm shortly before midday.

4. Wolmer's student being questioned in relation to threats sent to teacher via voice note

A 17-year-old student of Wolmer's Boys School is being questioned in relation to alleged threats of violence and murder he sent to a teacher in a voice note.

5. Encouraging indicators for oil and gas in Jamaica says PCJ

The Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) says a geological study recently conducted by CGG Robertson of the United Kingdom has revealed further “encouraging” signs for possible petroleum potential on and off-shore Jamaica.

6. Florida police reopens murder case against Omar Collymore

Police in Florida have a reignited interest into a decade old murder case following the arrest and charge of Omar 'Best' Collymore two weeks ago in Jamaica.

7. Security guard shot in confrontation with police

A security guard was shot and injured and a firearm seized during an alleged confrontation with the police last night in Love Lane, central Kingston.

8. Suspect held in murder of 14-y-o St James girl

Police in St James are reporting that the man wanted for the murder of a 14-year-old girl was taken into police custody on Saturday.

9. Phillips calls on Holness to speed up Vale Royal Talks

Leader of the Opposition Dr Peter Phillips is calling on the government to immediately resume the Vale Royal Talks so that practical solutions may be found for some of the critical issues facing the country.

10. Chicken shortage shuts hundreds of KFC stores in UK

US fast-food chain KFC said Monday it had shut hundreds of UK stores as German delivery supplier DHL left them short of fowl and customers without their "fried chicken fix".
