In reacting to news of his passing, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange has described former West Indies Cricket Board President, and attorney-at-law Patrick Rousseau, as one of the “greatest administrators” of the game.

2. 18-y-o suspected of committing suicide in Linstead

A male teen is suspected to have committed suicide at his home in Lemon Ridge, Linstead, St Catherine yesterday.

3. Two people held in murder of 8-y-o St Andrew girl

The police have confirmed that two people have been taken in custody in relation to the murder of eight-year-old Chantae Skyers whose body was found in an area known as Blue Hole in Sterling Castle Heights in St Andrew yesterday.

4. Maritime Authority urges boaters to be vigilant over Easter weekend

The Maritime Authority of Jamaica (MAJ) is urging boaters to be vigilant making their way to and from offshore Cays to celebrate during the upcoming Easter holidays – particularly that period covering Good Friday to Easter Monday.

5. Education Ministry sends trauma team to Red Hills Primary following murder of 8-y-o

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Information today dispatched its grief and trauma team to support staff and students at Red Hills Primary in St Andrew, following the tragic death of eight-year-old Chantae Skyers.

6. PNP bemoans 'inept management' of foreign exchange market

The Parliamentary Opposition says that the foreign exchange market is once again suffering a period of severe shortage of supply of US Dollars coupled with a sharp devaluation of the Jamaican Dollar.

7. One person shot in Oxford Road incident

The police confirmed that there was a shooting incident on Oxford Road in New Kingston this morning leaving one person injured.

8. Phillips again urges the immediate convening of stakeholders' meeting on crime

Leader of the Opposition People's National Party (PNP) Dr Peter Phillips says that the long promised anti-crime meeting of stakeholders, to include the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, the Peace Management Initiative, the church, and others must be immediately convened in order to hammer out a national consensus against crime and violence.

9. UDC board appoints new general manager

The Board of Directors of the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has appointed Heather Pinnock, general manager of the entity as of April 1, 2019.

10. Disney offers US$5m for the Notre-Dame it once immortalised on film

Disney, which scored millions with the 1996 animated blockbuster "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," said Wednesday it would give US$5 million to restore the fire-damaged Paris cathedral.
