Dear editor,

Those responsible for the recent 'Sandz' beach party causing a pileup of traffic and roadblock along the Palisadoes strip leading to the airport must feel a sense of shame.

Poor planning, indiscipline, selfishness and the lack of authority enforcing law and order were all on full show.

How did the organisers receive a permit to put on this event -- the second time I understand, this time it was worst!

I've heard of flight delays, pilots and flight crews couldn't get to airport on time, passengers were either late getting to airport, stranded, many ended up missing flights.

Have we gotten so indisciplined, selfish and uncaring? Is our society deteriorating to the extent that lawlessness rules?

Where was the authority responsible for enforcing law and order and public safety, even when they saw the problem escalating into a major bottleneck along a critical thoroughfare?

On what basis does the authorities grant these permits and is noise and traffic and crowd control ever factored in?

How did we get to this stage where a beach party, could cause such major disruption to a vital economic service such as air transportation?
