One arrested in Irwin rape case

MONTEGO BAY, St James - The police have taken into custody one man suspected of being involved in the robbery and rape of five people at Irwin Point in St James on Monday.

A source close to the investigation told the Jamaica Observer Thursday that the suspect was held in St James.

The five victims — an eight-year-old child, girls 14 and 16 and two adults — are still receiving medical treatment and counselling.

Meanwhile the police continue their search for other suspects.
