PORTLAND, Jamaica — Portland residents from the community of Matty Hole in the Maidstone district were, up to this morning, using rafts as a means of transportation, due to high flood waters in the area.

Sections of Portland, along with St Mary and St Catherine were flooded during heavy weekend rains in sections of the island.

On Tuesday, the National Works Agency said that Burbon Road, which is near to Maidstone, was under some 15 feet of water, while a massive landslide continues to impact the road from Moore Town to Cornwall Barracks.
