Phillips uncontested for PNP presidency

KINGSTON, Jamaica — People's National Party (PNP) president Dr Peter Phillips was uncontested at the end of the party's nomination period, which started on July 16 and closed today.

PNP, in a release today, said that in accordance with section 161 and 162 of the party's constitution, the nominees will be elected at the annual party conference which will be held in September where the National Executive Council will make the final decision.

At the close of nominations, the following people were nominated:

For president

Peter Phillips

For vice president

Dr Angela Brown-Burke

Damion Crawford

Dr Fenton Ferguson

Dr Wykeham McNeill

Phillip Paulwell
