Police recovers firearm from man killed by unknown assailants

HANOVER, Jamaica — A man was on Sunday shot dead by unknown assailants and a firearm later recovered from his person by the police in Elvin Town, Hanover.

Dead is 25-year-old Odane Atlan of Kew District in the parish.

Police say that about 2:15pm residents heard loud explosions and summoned them. On their arrival Atlan was seen on the ground in a pool of blood with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds.

According to the police a .38 revolver was then taken from the injured man.

He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
