Police arrest 10 people after seizing high-powered rifles in St James

ST JAMES, Jamaica — Ten people are now in police custody following the seizure of three high-powered rifles along with 147 rounds of ammunition in Salt Spring, St James over the last 24 hours.

According to a report from the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the ten were arrested this morning following the seizure of three rifles and 137 assorted rounds of ammunition in Bucktoe Lane about 7:00 am.

The weapons include a KM Tactical AR15 rifle, one Colt Carbine M16 rifle and one Anderson KM AM15 rifle.

Meanwhile, a fourth weapon — a M16 rifle — was seized in Dooney's Corner in the community yesterday about 7:35 am. No was arrested in relation to that seizure.
