Police identify two killed in east Kingston church attack

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have released the identities of the two people who were fatally shot during a gun attack which took place yesterday at the King's Chapel Seventh-day Adventist Church in eastern Kingston.

Dead are 28-year-old Ashley Hopsburn and 34-year-old Anthoy Salesman.

The two were among nine people who were shot and injured during a funeral service for a vendor who had been stabbed to death in downtown Kingston.

Reports from alleged eyewitnesses are that men opened gunfire outside the church injuring mourners.

The injured were rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where Hopsburn and Salesman succumbed to their injuries.
