Police operation in Hanover nabs two wanted men

HANOVER, Jamaica – The police are reporting that aspecial operation conducted Hanover today Friday, November 15 has reaped success with two wanted men and several persons of interest taken into custody for various offences

Reports are that lawmen conducted an operation between the hours of 4:30 am and 10:40 am in theGreen Islandarea where several premises were searched. Two men -- one of whom was listed as wanted -- were arrested. A Taurus 9mm pistol along with a magazine containing three 9mm rounds of ammunition was also seized in the operation.

In the meantime, a man was taken into custody for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act 2013 after he was found in possession of identity information of individuals living overseas.

Another man, who was listed as wanted for grievous sexual assault was taken into custody during an operation conducted at Dias, in the parish.

Detectives have withheld the identities of the people taken into custody pending further investigations.
