Police seize assault rifle, Uzi on Spanish Town Road

KINGSTON, Jamaica — High powered weapons, several rounds of assorted ammunition along with a ballistic vest were seized yesterday by the Hunts Bay police on Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11.

According to the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), shortly after 1:00 pm police were on an operation in the area when an abandoned building was searched and an AK47 Assault rifle, an Uzi submachine gun, thirty-one 5.56mm cartridges, ten 0.45 cartridges and one 9mm cartridge were found.
No arrests were made in connection with the seizure.

Investigations continue.
