THE South East Regional Health Authority (SEHRA) has contracted the services of an independent auditor to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the allegations carried in the media about the level of care provided to a patient at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital (VJH).
“A meeting was held with the independent audit team and the management of the hospital this morning. The audit team has been instructed to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations made against the hospital. The team is expected to submit a full report by next Friday, which will be reviewed and submitted to the Ministry of Health,” Lyttleton Shirley, SERHA Board Chairman said.
Shirley said the investigation became necessary due to the nature of the allegations against the hospital.
“SERHA continues to believe in the professionalism and dedication of our staff at VJH to serving our clients. We believe, however, that all complaints made by our clients must be urgently investigated and the appropriate actions taken where require,” he said.
