BARCELONA, Spain - Despite breaking the National Junior Record in the long jump with a jump of 6.58m, Jamaica's Chanice Porter had to settle for fourth place and out of the medals in the long jump on today’s fourth day at the 14th IAAF World Junior Championships at the Montjuic Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain.

The IAAF World Youth Championships gold medalist was in third place until the final round when Germany's Lena Malkus jumped 6.80m to move into second and pushed her off the medal podium.

Porter who will contest her second final, the high jump tomorrow, surpassed her previous best of 6.52 seconds and the National Junior Record 6.53m set by Nolle Graham in Durham, North Carolina in June 2000.
