Robber shot dead on minibus

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man was shot dead by a licensed firearm holder after he attempted to rob a Coaster bus with passengers on Spanish Town Road in Kingston, early Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Kingsley Gunter, otherwise called 'Gummy', of First Street in Trench Town, Kingston 12.

Reports are that about 5:50 am, Gunter who was a passenger on the bus brandished a firearm and opened fire on passengers.

The licensed firearm holder, who was also injured, returned gunfire and Gunter was hit.
The police were summoned and Gunter, the licensed firearm holder, and the bus conductor were seen with gunshot injuries.

They were all assisted to hospital where Gunter was pronounced dead and the injured men treated.
Police say a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver with four rounds of ammunition was taken from the deceased.
