KINGSTON, Jamaica — Due to persistent rainfall, only an hour's play was possible on Thursday's opening day of the regional four-day match between Jamaica Scorpions and Barbados Pride at Sabina Park.

The Scorpions are 77 without loss after winning the toss and electing to bat in the day/night encounter.

Left-hander John Campbell is unbeaten on 42 off 49 balls, while his opening partner Garth Garvey is on 31 (35 balls).

Score: Scorpions 77-0 (14 overs)

Play is set to begin 1:30 pm for the remaining three days — 30 minutes earlier than usual — to make up for time lost

Teams:
Scorpions — Paul Palmer (captain), John Campbell, Garth Garvey, Assad Fudadin, Brandon King, Steven Taylor, Derval Green, Damion Jacobs, Dennis Bulli, Reynard Leveridge, Oshane Thomas.

Pride — Shamarh Brooks, Anthony Alleyne, Jonathan Carter, Mario Rampersaud, Shayne Moseley, Kenroy Williams, Kevin Stoute, Jomel Warrican, Ashley Nurse, Justin Greaves, Shakeem Clarke.
