Section of King Street closed tomorrow for opening of court

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police is advising motorists that a section of King Street downtown Kingston will be closed between the hours of 5:00 am and 11:00 am tomorrow Wednesday, December 12 to facilitate the opening of the expanded Court of Appeal.

The following intersections will be closed to traffic:

1) Harbour Street/King Street

Vehicles travelling along Harbour Street intending to use King Street will use either Orange or Duke Streets instead to access Parade.

2) Tower Street/King Street

Vehicles travelling along Tower Street intending to use King Street will instead use Orange Street. 3) Barry Street/King Street

Vehicles travelling along Barry Street from Church Street will not be allowed to make a left onto King Street passing the Appeal Court or Supreme Court buildings. Instead, they will continue straight across Barry Street or make a right onto King Street.

4) Water Lane/King Street

Vehicles travelling from Water Lane onto King Street will only be allowed to make a left turn towards Harbour Street.
