Sigma Run raises $21m, draws 22,000 participants

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- The Sagicor SIGMA Corporate Run staged today in New Kingston raised approximately $21.7 million and drew a stunning 22,368 participants, the organisers announced early Sunday morning.

The benefit run is a 5.5 kilometre event focusing on company teams, but is open to runners and walkers of all fitness levels and abilities.

The annual charity event is staged this year under the patronage of Lady Allen wife of the Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, Olympic and World Championships gold medallist Shelley- Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Season 5 The Voice winner Tessanne Chin.
