St Andrew farmer killed in motorcycle crash

ST ANDREW, Jamaica— Omar Bernard, a 21-year-old, farmer of Hall's Delight district in Mavis Bank, St Andrew died following motor vehicle crash on Content Valley main road in the parish on Wednesday, the police say.

According to reports, Bernard was a pillion on a motorcycle when the handle of the motorcycle reportedly made contact with a pedestrian.

Bernard fell as a result, hitting an embankment. He was also hit by the wheel of an Isuzu motor truck that was travelling in the opposite direction.

He sustained several injuries and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Lawmen said the investigation is on-going and the driver of the motorcycle has been warned for prosecution.
