St Andrew man dies after receiving chop wounds

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — A man who received several chops to his head and hand on Monday, September 11, during a dispute with another man, succumbed to his injuries yesterday.

Dead is 55-year-old Joseph Briton, otherwise called 'Linval', a labourer of Star Apple Tree district, Cavaliers in rural St Andrew.

Reports from the Lawrence Tavern police are that about 6:30 am Monday Briton and another man were involved in a dispute. During the argument a machete was used to chop Briton to his head and hand.

Briton was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, September 21.

The suspect in the killing remains at large, the police said.
